These Terms & Conditions apply when you place an order with Ellebroidery. I’ve kept them as straightforward as possible, but please read them before ordering.

By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

About Ellebroidery

Ellebroidery is a UK-based small business operated by Ellen Wright Folan.

Your embroidered keepsake

Ellebroidery creates personalised keepsakes using handwriting supplied by you, carefully embroidered in navy thread onto natural cotton canvas.

Each piece is individually created from the handwriting you provide.

Embroidery is a textile process rather than a printed reproduction, so there may be small differences between the original handwriting and the finished embroidery. Minor variations in stitching, positioning and finish are part of the handmade nature of the product and are not considered faults.

I will always aim to preserve the character of the original handwriting as closely as the embroidery process allows.

Placing an order

When ordering, you will be asked to provide the information and personalisation details needed to create your keepsake.

You will need to provide a clear photograph or scan of the handwriting you would like embroidered.

Once I receive your handwriting, I will assess whether it is suitable for embroidery. If there is a problem with the image or handwriting, I will contact you to see whether an alternative can be provided.

If the handwriting cannot reasonably be embroidered and we cannot agree on a suitable alternative, your order will be cancelled and you will receive a full refund.

Please check all information you provide carefully, including your delivery address and any personalisation instructions.

The handwriting you provide

By submitting handwriting or other material to Ellebroidery, you confirm that you have the right to use and provide it for the purpose of creating your keepsake.

This may be handwriting belonging to you, handwriting written for you, or handwriting that you otherwise have permission or authority to use.

Where handwriting or personal information belonging to a child is provided, you confirm that you are the child's parent or guardian or have appropriate permission to provide it.

Information about how handwriting images and personal information are handled can be found in the Ellebroidery Privacy Policy.

I may photograph completed pieces and use those photographs to showcase Ellebroidery's work, provided this is done in accordance with the Privacy Policy. If you do not want your finished piece to be shared, you can opt out when ordering or contact me at helloellebroidery@gmail.com.

Prices & payment

All prices are shown on the Ellebroidery website and may be changed from time to time.

The price applicable to your order is the price displayed when you place the order.

Any applicable delivery charges will be shown at checkout before payment.

Payment is taken securely through the payment methods offered through the Ellebroidery Shopify checkout. I do not receive or store your full debit or credit card details.

Making your order

Every Ellebroidery keepsake is made individually to order.

Estimated production or dispatch times will be displayed on the website or communicated when you order. These are estimates rather than guaranteed delivery dates unless I have specifically agreed otherwise with you.

If you need your keepsake for a particular occasion or date, please contact me before ordering and I can let you know whether this is likely to be possible.

Delivery

Orders will be sent to the delivery address provided at checkout, so please make sure your address is correct before submitting your order.

Delivery charges and available delivery options will be displayed at checkout.

Once an order has been dispatched, delivery times may be affected by the postal or courier service. I cannot guarantee that a carrier will deliver within its estimated timeframe.

However, nothing in these terms affects any responsibility I have to you under applicable consumer law.

For international orders, you may be responsible for any import VAT, customs duties or other charges imposed by your destination country unless the website or checkout specifically states otherwise.

Personalised orders, cancellations & returns

Ellebroidery keepsakes are made to your individual specifications using the handwriting you provide. Because they are personalised goods, the usual right to cancel an online purchase simply because you have changed your mind does not generally apply once I have begun creating your personalised order.

If you contact me quickly after placing an order and I have not yet started work on your piece, I will always try to accommodate a cancellation where possible.

This does not affect your statutory rights if your item is faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise does not meet your legal rights as a consumer.

Faulty or damaged items

Every piece is carefully checked before it leaves Ellebroidery.

If your keepsake arrives damaged, faulty or with a workmanship issue, please contact me as soon as possible at helloellebroidery@gmail.com, ideally within 14 days of delivery, and include photographs showing the problem.

Depending on the circumstances, I will arrange an appropriate repair, replacement or refund.

Small differences caused by translating handwriting into embroidery, or minor variations inherent in an individually embroidered product, are not considered faults provided the finished product otherwise matches what was ordered.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights in relation to faulty or incorrectly described goods.

Lost parcels

If your order is confirmed as lost in transit, please contact me.

I will investigate the loss with the postal or courier service and, where appropriate, arrange a replacement or refund.

I may occasionally need your assistance with information required by the carrier to investigate a missing delivery.

Privacy

Your personal information, including any handwriting photographs or scans supplied with your order, will be handled in accordance with the Ellebroidery Privacy Policy.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including any rights you have under applicable UK consumer law.

To the extent permitted by law, Ellebroidery will not be responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you placed your order or for losses relating to the use of the product for business or commercial purposes.

Governing law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in Northern Ireland.

If you live elsewhere in the UK, you will also retain any mandatory consumer rights and protections that apply to you where you live.

Changes to these terms

I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The date at the top of this page will show when they were last updated. The terms that were in place when you placed your order will apply to that order.
